Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 May 2026
These terms govern your use of Blue Earth Cycling and the bikes you book through the platform. By making a booking you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not book.
1. Who you are contracting with
Blue Earth Cycling is operated by Swift Carbon UK Limited, trading as Blue Earth Cycling, registered in England and Wales under company number 12729743 and VAT number 357927061. Registered office: The Pinnacle Building A, 150-170 Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK9 1FD. References to we, us, or our in these terms mean Swift Carbon UK Limited.
2. The service
Blue Earth Cycling is a network of partner locations that rent premium bikes. The platform handles browsing, booking, and payment. The bike is provided to you by the partner location at the pickup point you selected; you collect, ride, and return the bike directly with that location.
3. Bookings
To book a bike you choose a model, size, dates, and a pickup location, then provide your contact details. Once payment is confirmed we email you a booking confirmation. The confirmation is your proof of reservation — bring it to the pickup along with valid photo ID.
We make reasonable efforts to keep availability accurate, but a booking is only firm once you receive the confirmation email. If we cannot fulfil a booking after taking payment — for example, because the bike has become unavailable — we will contact you, refund you in full, and help you find an alternative if one is available.
4. Payments and prices
Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken at the time of booking through Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. By paying you authorise us, via Stripe, to charge the amount shown at checkout to your chosen payment method.
5. Cancellation and refunds
If you need to cancel, the refund depends on how far in advance you let us know:
- 72 hours or more before pickup — full refund.
- At least 24 hours but less than 72 hours before pickup — 50% refund.
- Less than 24 hours before pickup, or no-show — no refund.
Refunds are made through Stripe to the card you used to pay, and typically appear within 5 to 10 working days. Statutory rights for distance contracts under UK consumer law are unaffected.
6. Your responsibilities
When you book and ride a bike from us, you agree to:
- Be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission to use the service.
- Provide accurate booking information.
- Wear a helmet (provided with each rental) and follow UK road rules.
- Take reasonable care of the bike and accessories, and report any damage or fault as soon as you notice it.
- Return the bike on time at the agreed location, in the condition you received it allowing for normal wear.
- Pay any reasonable cost of repair or replacement for damage caused by misuse, negligence, or loss of the bike or accessories.
7. Our responsibilities
We will provide a bike that is serviced, fitted to your size, and accompanied by the accessories listed on the booking page (typically a helmet, repair kit, and phone mount). The rental includes basic insurance against mechanical damage during normal use. This basic insurance does not cover loss, theft, intentional damage, or damage caused by misuse.
8. Liability
Cycling carries inherent risks. You ride at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety on the road.
We are responsible to you for foreseeable losses and damage caused by us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or in connection with them is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The version date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Changes apply to bookings made after the update; bookings already confirmed are governed by the terms in force when you booked.
